1. The agreement and our company
“Balbum”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Codechest Ltd, company number 16912070. Our registered office is 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. “Owner” means the account holder managing an album; “guest” means a person using an album’s upload link.
These Terms apply to owners, guests and customers accessing business-managed albums. The package details and price displayed before purchase also form part of a paid order. Our Privacy Notice explains personal-data processing; acknowledging it is not blanket consent to every use of your information. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.
2. What Balbum provides
Balbum helps you collect photos and videos from weddings and other events in albums, create printable QR cards, and download uploaded files. You may prepare an album and card before buying storage. Accepting uploads requires available, active storage assigned to the owner’s account or to the individual business album, as applicable.
The account’s album allowance and each package’s capacity, duration and price are shown in the service. Balbum provides digital tools and storage; printing and physical delivery of cards are not included.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement to open an owner account or purchase a package. If you act for a business or another organisation, you must be authorised to do so. Guests under 18 should use the service with a parent or guardian’s assistance and any permission required by law.
Provide accurate account information, protect your email, password and sign-in codes, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. Email verification, optional password sign-in and Google sign-in are available according to your account settings. Never share sign-in codes or another person’s account.
5. Albums supplied through a business
If you obtain the album service from a business using Balbum, the album is created in that business’s workspace and remains under its management. The business can view all content in that album, including photos, videos and wishes, add files, download and delete files, and manage upload links and customer access. The customer signed in with the album username and password manages gallery sharing; the business manages QR design and QR downloads. A customer username and password give you access to the album; they do not remove the business’s management access.
By accepting these Terms and choosing an album service supplied through a business, you acknowledge and accept these album management permissions. They apply to the business-managed album, not to separate personal albums in your own Balbum account. The business must tell customers and guests about its access and intended use of their content and obtain any permissions required for that use. These permissions do not transfer ownership of uploaded content or remove privacy and copyright obligations.
If you do not want a business to have these management permissions, create your own Balbum account and purchase the album storage service directly through your account. You may separately contact a business to arrange printing or other services and agree their price and delivery directly with that business. Buying printing or other services alone does not automatically give the business management access to all files in your personal album; any files or access links you choose to share remain subject to the permissions of that sharing method.
6. Storage capacity and duration
Each package is a separate, one-time purchase. There is no subscription or automatic renewal. The selected duration is shown before payment and runs from the successful payment date. A new purchase adds capacity for its own term; it does not extend an earlier package’s expiry date.
Available capacity is the sum of unexpired paid packages. Completed files and space reserved for unfinished uploads count towards the owner’s allowance. Storage uses binary units: 1 GB is 1,073,741,824 bytes and 1 TB is 1,024 GB. Each photo may be at most 50 MB, each video 5 GB, and each wish recording 1 GB with a maximum duration of 10 minutes; supported types and technical limits are shown in the upload interface.
7. Prices and payment
The checkout shows the package, duration, total price and currency before you pay. Payments are processed through Stripe. Storage is activated after successful payment is confirmed; a pending or failed payment does not grant storage. Your bank may apply its own currency-conversion charges.
Keep your payment information accurate and use a payment method you are authorised to use. Do not make a second payment merely because confirmation is delayed; check the order status or contact us with the purchase reference. Future price changes do not alter the price of a completed order.
8. Cancellation, refunds and consumer rights
Contact us with your account email and order reference to cancel an order, report a duplicate or incorrect charge, or request a refund. You can use this wording: “I wish to cancel my Balbum storage order [reference], purchased on [date], under account [email].” A refund request does not itself delete your albums.
Where UK or other applicable consumer law gives you a cooling-off right, you may cancel a service purchase within 14 days of entering the contract. If you expressly ask us to start during that period, a proportionate charge for service supplied may apply only where the law permits and the required information was provided. Immediate activation does not by itself waive your cancellation rights.
After any statutory cancellation period, unused time or capacity is not automatically refunded, but we review payment errors, non-delivery and service complaints. Any refund required by law will be made within the applicable deadline, normally to the original payment method. Your statutory rights to remedies for a faulty or misdescribed service remain unaffected.
If a refund or lawful payment reversal removes capacity, files may exceed the remaining allowance. We will explain the storage consequences when handling the request so you can download files where practicable; fraud, security incidents or legal requirements may require earlier restrictions.
9. Expiry, file deletion and backups
When a package expires, its capacity stops counting immediately. If used and reserved storage exceeds the remaining active capacity, unfinished uploads are cancelled first. If completed files still exceed capacity, deletion proceeds from the oldest completed files until usage fits the available capacity. If no active capacity remains, all stored files are eligible for deletion. Album records do not automatically disappear when storage expires.
There is no promised grace period after expiry. The dashboard shows package expiry dates. We may send operational reminders when files are at risk, but you must not rely on receiving a reminder. Download important files before expiry and keep an independent backup.
Deletion removes access and releases the relevant quota. Physical object cleanup can complete later, and a previously issued short-lived download link can remain valid until it expires. Deleted files should be treated as unrecoverable; Balbum is not a permanent archive.
10. Your content and permissions
You retain the ownership and other rights you have in uploaded photos, videos and text. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, transfer and display that content only as needed to provide, secure and support Balbum, follow your instructions and comply with law. We do not acquire ownership of your memories.
Upload only content you are entitled to share, with any permissions needed from photographers, people depicted, parents or guardians, and other rights holders. Guests authorise the album owner to receive and download their uploads for the event. The owner must respect those rights when using or sharing the files outside Balbum.
A private event does not remove privacy or copyright obligations. Tell guests how their content will be used. If you organise events commercially, you are responsible for any additional notices, lawful basis and data-protection arrangements required for your use.
11. Acceptable use and reporting
Use Balbum lawfully and respect other people’s privacy, intellectual property and safety. We may investigate credible reports, restrict access and preserve relevant evidence when reasonably necessary or legally required.
- Do not upload illegal, sexually exploitative, threatening, harassing or privacy-infringing content. Child sexual abuse material is prohibited.
- Do not distribute malware, impersonate another person, access albums without permission, bypass quotas or security, or disrupt the service.
- Do not use upload links for spam, unlawful surveillance or collecting information without authority.
- Report harmful content or copyright concerns with the album or file reference and a clear explanation. Do not email illegal imagery or unnecessary sensitive files.
12. QR cards and platform rights
Balbum’s software, brand, interface and template artwork belong to us or our licensors. You may personalise, download and print the cards offered by the service for your own events and authorised client events. This does not grant a right to resell the template library or copy the platform.
Check names, dates, text, page size and the QR destination before printing. Test a printed sample with a phone, use suitable contrast and print at the stated dimensions. Scanning depends on print quality, lighting, device and an active upload link. Example cards on the public site link to balbum.app; your saved album card uses your own album’s link.
13. Third-party services
Balbum uses providers including Stripe for payments, Google for optional sign-in, Cloudflare R2 for file storage and Resend for transactional email. Their own terms and privacy notices can apply to their independent services. We remain responsible for our own obligations and our choice and management of service providers.
Balbum does not request access to your Google Drive, Google Photos, contacts or Gmail to provide sign-in. We do not ask guests to connect those accounts to upload files.
14. Availability and support
We aim to provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Maintenance, network problems, security measures and events outside our reasonable control can interrupt access or delay uploads and downloads. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or a particular event outcome.
Where practicable, we will give notice of significant planned interruptions. Contact us about service problems. Nothing in this section excludes remedies you have under applicable law or excuses a failure to meet a binding obligation.
15. Suspension and closing your account
You can permanently delete your account from Settings after entering the six-digit code sent to your verified email. Deletion immediately closes album and QR links, cancels ongoing uploads and blocks new uploads. All file objects are queued for background deletion before the account is closed and personal profile, album and guest names are removed. The account cannot be restored; registering again creates a new account. Download important files first. Clearing your browser does not delete your account.
We may restrict or suspend access for serious misuse, security risk, fraud or a legal requirement. Where reasonably practicable, we will explain the reason and allow you to respond or export lawful content. Urgent safety or legal action may require immediate restrictions. Closing an account does not automatically entitle you to a refund or remove records we must lawfully retain.
16. Privacy and communications
Our Privacy Notice explains account information, guest browser keys, file access, providers, retention and your rights. Owners are responsible for how they use guest content after downloading or sharing it.
We may send essential messages about sign-in, security, purchases, storage expiry and changes affecting the service. These are service communications, not a blanket permission for advertising.
Read the Privacy Notice ↗17. Responsibility and liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot legally be limited. Mandatory consumer rights are preserved.
For consumers, we are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses caused solely by your breach, unlawful uploads or failure to download files after the clearly disclosed storage period, except where our own breach contributed to the loss.
For business users, to the extent permitted by law and subject to the first paragraph, we do not cover indirect loss or lost profits, revenue or business opportunities. Our aggregate liability in a 12-month period is capped at the greater of £100 and the fees you paid us in the preceding 12 months. This business cap does not apply to consumers or override mandatory law.
18. Changes, language and governing law
We may update these Terms for legal, security or service reasons. We will publish a new version and effective date and give reasonable notice of material changes where practicable. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights under an existing paid order. Continued use after an update takes effect means acceptance of the updated Terms; if you disagree, stop using the service and contact us about any active order.
Azerbaijani is the default website language. The Azerbaijani and English documents are intended to have the same meaning; a translation issue does not remove a mandatory right.
The laws of England and Wales govern this agreement. Their courts have jurisdiction; consumers retain mandatory protections and any right to bring a claim in their country of residence. For business customers, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If one provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue.
19. Contact and complaints
For support, cancellation, legal notices and complaints, use the email and registered-office address shown below. Include your account or order reference where relevant, but never send passwords, sign-in codes or full card details. We will review complaints and explain the outcome; you may also use any court or regulator available under applicable law.
